Pursuant to the state open records act, I request access to and copies of the following records for your university: 1. An index(s), list(s) or table(s) of all settlements, severances and arrangements reached between your institution, as well (but not excluding) associated entities (state, foundations, etc.) or insurance schemes, from January 1, 2007 to present day. Specifically, I am interested in settlements, severances and arrangements entered into as a result of a dispute or complaint -- and regardless if those disputes or complaints were dealt with judicially, through arbitration, internally or some other manner. Likewise, I am interested in both settlements, severances and arrangements that resulted in both monetary disbursements and non-monetary arrangements. 2a. I request payment records of all monetary disbursements that were the result of settlements, severances and arrangements outlined in request 1. Also please I request a copy of term sheet or final arrangement document related to the original dispute(s). 2b. For non-monetary arrangements, please provide the copy of term sheet or final arrangement document related to the original dispute(s) outlined in request 1. 3a. For settlements, severances and arrangements reached as a result of a federal lawsuit, I request you provide the corresponding case number for the federal lawsuit — or a one page document that includes such information. 3b. For settlements, severances or arrangements reached as a result of non-federal lawsuit, I request you provide a copy of the original complaint or petition that initiated the settlement, severance or arrangement. 3c. For settlements, severances and arrangements reached as a result of any other dispute or complaint (including, but not limited to, arbitration, internal deliberations or some other manner) as outlined in request 1, I request you provide a copy of the original complaint or notification that initiated the settlement, severance or arrangement. 4. If my request is denied in whole or part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the act. I will also expect you to release all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material. I, of course, reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to deny a waiver of fees. 5. I am also requesting any lookup tables, field layouts code sheets or other documents needed to interpret the data. If there will be a cost for processing this request, please contact me in advance. I would like an itemized list of the request costs, including the number of hours expected to produce the file and the hourly rate of the employee who would be doing the work. I am a representative of the news media seeking information as part of a news gathering effort and not for commercial use. This information is being sought on behalf of The Chronicle of Higher Education, a newspaper and news website based in Washington, DC. As such, I request a fee benefit.
