I am requesting public records information about faculty application, interview and hire information from Academic Year 2011-2012 thru 2016-2017. This information will be used in a country-wide study of hiring at the faculty level, including determining whether faculty diversity or applicant pool diversity have any impact on hiring practices. The information I need is, for each faculty job advertised in the time period requested, as follows: (1) The number of applicants for each faculty job advertised per department, per year, broken out by gender AND the following race/ethnicity categories: 1) Caucasian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 2) Race and Ethnicity Not Reported, 3) Asian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 4) All Other Races and Ethnicities or Multiracial Groups. (2) The number invited for interviews (phone or in person) for each faculty job advertised per department, per year, broken out by gender AND the following race/ethnicity categories: 1) Caucasian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 2) Race and Ethnicity Not Reported, 3) Asian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 4) All Other Races and Ethnicities or Multiracial Groups. (3) The number offered a job (whether or not they accepted) for each faculty job advertised per department, per year, broken out by gender AND the following race/ethnicity categories: 1) Caucasian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 2) Race and Ethnicity Not Reported, 3) Asian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 4) All Other Races and Ethnicities or Multiracial Groups. (4) The number of faculty employed by a department per department, per year, broken out by gender AND tenure track status (Tenure-Track Position, Year-Round Lecturer, or Adjunct*) AND the following race/ethnicity categories: 1) Caucasian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 2) Race and Ethnicity Not Reported, 3) Asian, non-multi-racial, not Latino/Hispanic, 4) All Other Races and Ethnicities or Multiracial Groups. (5) For each job, please report the associated department, the title of the position (“i.e. Assistant Professor of Sedimentology”), and the number of positions ran (i.e. 2 positions hired from the same advertisement). * If you have alternate definitions (i.e. Senior Lecturer, Visiting Assistant Professor) those are welcome too.
