"Dear Public Records Office – I am a Professor of Political Science at Portland State University and the president of the Oregon chapter of the National Association of Scholars (www.nas.org), the Oregon Association of Scholars (a registered non-profit organization in the State of Oregon). We are pulling together a report on grade inflation trends in higher education in Oregon and I would like to request updated figures for the grade inflation report that the university published in 2006. Specifically, I would like “average GPA awarded in all undergraduate courses” in a given quarter (usually the fall) in the years since the last reported data in 2004. I am requesting this data from other major universities and colleges in the state and will share the findings on our chapter website once the report is created."
