Pursuant to the Oregon Publ ic Records Law, ยง 192.410 et seq., I write torequest the following records from the University of Oregon:1. All communications from 2009 to the present from any member of thestate legislature or any member's staff or any officer or employee ofany part of the legislat ive branch of government that refers in any wayto the racial composition of the student body, increasing or decreasingthe number of any under-represented racial or ethnic minority oncampus, increasing or decreasing outreach or financial aid to membersof any underrepresented racial or ethnic minoriti es, modifyingadmissions criteria in a way that is intended to increase or decrease thenumber of any under-represented racial or ethnic minority on campus.This request is limited to communications that relate in whole or in partto the student body as a whole, the undergraduate student body as awhole, and/or the law school student body.2. All communications from any university offic ial, incl uding but notlimited to any president, chancellor, provost, vice provost, associateprovost, assistant provost, vice president, dean, vice dean, associatedean, assistant dean, director of admissions, associate director ofadmissions, assistant director of admissions, or facu lty chairman of anyadmissions committee in response to a communication covered byItem. I.3. All communications from 2009 to the present to any university official(as desc ribed above) from any donor, potential donor, alumnus oralumna, student organization, public offi cial, other organization of anykind urging that diversity or race/ethic-based admissions policies beretained or stepped up or urging that more students from underrepresentedraces or ethnic groups be admitted or that more facu ltymembers from under-represented races or ethnic groups be hired. Thisrequest is limited to communications that relate to the student body as awhole, the undergraduate student body as a whole, and/or the lawschool student body.4. All communications from any university official (as described above)in response to a communication covered by Item 3.5. All applications by the university (or any of its subparts) from 2012 tothe present for a grant or other financi al benefit in which the grantmakingfoundation or agency requested information or was giveninformation about the racial and ethnic composition of the studentbody, admittees or applicants or about efforts of the university torecruit and enroll students from any under-represented racial or ethnicminority. The request does NOT include applications by the uni versity(or any of its subparts) for a grant or other financi al benefit in whichthe grant-maker is a federal entity such as the Department of theDefense, the National Science Foundation, or the National Institutes ofHealth.
